چکیده

This paper presents the treatment of Acid green V by an electrochemical oxidation using Ti/RuO2 IrO2 TiO2 as anode and cathode and NaCl as supporting electrolyte in a tubular flow reactor under continuous single pass process. During the electrolysis, COD reduction, color removal, and energy consumption were investigated under different flow rates and current densities. The experimental results showed that at 10 l/h flow rate and 2.5 A/dm 2 current density for an initial COD 960 mg/l (3000ppm), COD reduction, color removal and power consumption were found to be 87.5%,100% and 3.2545 kWh/kg COD respectively. At the same flow rate and current density for an initial COD 480 mg/l (1500ppm), COD reduction, color removal and power consumption were found to be 100 %,100% and 6.0417 kWh/kg COD respectively. Advanced treatment of textile wastewater for reuse using electrochemical oxidation and membrane filtration

The treatment of textile wastewater for reuse using an electrochemical oxidation step combined with a membrane filtration step is reported in this paper. The electrolytical process is a traditional one, which is easy to scale up and to apply in practice. This paper proposes a modification of the transfer-flow membrane (TFM) module with fibres welded in an arc-shape to enhance the mechanical pro...

Contribution of Electrochemical Treatment in Treating Textile Dye Wastewater

The introduction of more stringent pollution regulations, in relation to financial and social pressures for sustainable development, has pressed toward limiting the volumes of industrial and domestic effluents discharged into the environment as well as to increase the efforts within research and development of new or more efficient wastewater treatment technologies. Considering both discharge v...

Chemical or electrochemical techniques, followed by ion exchange, for recycle of textile dye wastewater.

This paper examines the use of chemical or electrocoagulation treatment process followed by ion-exchange process of the textile dye effluent. The dye effluent was treated using polymeric coagulant (cationic dye-fixing agent) or electrocoagulation (iron and aluminum electrode) process under various conditions such as various current densities and effect of pH. Efficiencies of COD reduction, colo...

Electrochemical Degradation of Reactive Blue 19 Dye in Textile Wastewater

Textile wastewater is notoriously known to contain strong colour, a highly fluctuating pH and significant COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) values. Because of these characteristics, treatment of these effluents has been rather difficult. Traditional methods for dealing with textile wastewater consist of various combinations of biological, physical and chemical methods. Because of the large variabili...

Pilot Plant Experiences Using Activated Sludge Treatment Steps for the Biodegradation of Textile Wastewater

Considering both the volume and the effluent composition, the textile industry wastewater is rated as the most polluting among all industrial sectors. Important pollutants are present in textile effluents; they are mainly recalcitrant organics, colour, toxicants and inhibitory compounds (Khelifi et al., 2008). Textile industries however, have caused serious environmental problems because of the...
